On the basis of observation that nitrendipine has a role of anti-atherosclerosis,the effects of nitrendipine on experimental atherosclerosis of rabbits was studied. Results showed that nitrendipine had little effect on diet-induced hyperlipidemia,but it might inhibit the formation of aorta lesions and reduce the concentrations of cholesterol in aorta wall significantly,which suggest that nitrendipine has a significant function of anti-atherosclerosis.
