    Abstract:

Myocardial ischemic-reperfusion injury is related to oxidative stress, inflammatory responses and calcium overload, which is still a continuing challenge in cardiovascular field.Recent findings in animal model shows that synthetic and endogenous cannabinoids can decrease oxidative stress, attenuate inflammatory responses and protect endothelial function, which play an important role in decreasing the infarct size, promoting ventricular functional recovery and increasing the survival rate. Here,we will overview the relationship between endocannabinoid system and myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury.
