    Abstract:

Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammation disease, which is determined by the interaction of environment factors and genetic factors. Epigenetic modification may be the bridge to link environment factors and genetic factors which contribute to the formation and progression of atherosclerosis. The deeper-knowledge of epigenetic modification such as DNA methylation, histone modification and micro RNA in atherosclerosis may further explore the mechanisms of atherosclerosis. Moreover, epigenetic modification is reversible, which may provide new therapeutic strategies and targets for atherosclerosis.
