    Abstract:

Naringenin is a kind of naringin aglycone which belongs to flavonoid. Rosaceae, rutaceae and citrus plants are good sources of naringenin. It was found to possess strong anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antioxidant and anticancer biologic activities. Naringenin was demonstrated to have potential health benefits for the improvement of obesity, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and metabolic syndrome (MS). This review focuses on the related research between naringenin and MS, which might enable the development of novel theoretical basis of MS and its related diseases.
