Oxidative stress is involved in vascular remodeling and development of pulmonary hypertension(PH) through multiple pathways such as promoting pulmonary arterial vascular smooth muscle cells proliferation, enhancing endothelial dysfunction and accelerating extracellular matrix deposition.Recent studies have indicated that antioxidant therapy can effectively inhibit pulmonary vascular remodeling and the progress of PH,which provides further evidence that oxidative stress plays an important role in pulmonary vascular remodeling as well as in PH.It is the basis of antioxidant therapy and the research direction for PH to clarify the redox signaling pathway under pathological conditions and to seek specific drugs for antioxidant therapy.
